What we store
Just enough to run your party: the event name, invite code, players' nicknames and chosen teams, and game scores. These live in our database (Supabase) so everyone sees the same party. Playing needs no account and no phone number; an email is only stored when you choose to give one (see below).
So you can get back to them, your browser remembers the parties and registries you made or opened as their owner: in its own storage, and in one cookie (ddr_mine, kept up to 400 days) holding only their ids and private links. Page scripts can't read that cookie and it is never shared; clearing your browser's cookies removes it.
Video & audio
Live video and audio during the party pass through a video-calling server (Daily.co) so everyone stays connected — we don't record or store the live call itself. Short highlight clips ARE recorded on the host's device from the live call and uploaded to stitch into the party's highlight film, so the family can watch the reveal again. Guests' phones never record or upload anything. The raw clips are deleted 10 days after the party; the finished film stays on your party's recap page. That film is kept for your party's own recap page, and nowhere else.
The big secret
The baby's gender is stored server-side in a locked-down table that only the host's private token can read. Guests' devices never receive it before the reveal — there is nothing to peek at, even for the nosiest cousin with developer tools open.
Camera & microphone
We ask for camera and mic access only so the family can see and hear each other during the party. You can decline or turn them off at any time and keep playing. Access is requested by your browser and used only on the live party screen.
Recording consent
Before joining, every guest confirms they're okay with their live reactions possibly being captured for the family recap. Those captures happen on the host's device only, which uploads them to make the family's film — it's the host's to keep and share within the family.
Your email
We only have your email if you give it to us: the host, to get their private party link and the memory film; a guest who claims a party gift or asks for party news; a registry owner, gift-giver or someone following a registry; or anyone signing in with a one-time code. It is used for those emails only, sent through our email provider (Resend). Gift-givers' emails are shown to the parents only, never on the public page. Reminder and update emails carry an unsubscribe link.
Baby registry
A registry stores what you enter: its title, names, arrival date, an optional photo and your gift list. You choose whether it can be found by name or only through its link. If you add a delivery address, it is never on the public page — a gift-giver sees it only after leaving their email, so you know who has it. A registry started from a reveal shows that party's memory film at the top of the registry page, for anyone who opens it; you can hide it from your private manage page at any time.
Every finished reveal gets a registry automatically, so you never fill in a form twice: it uses the party's title, the host's name, email and due date, the revealed gender, guests' name ideas and promised gifts, and takes its photo from a frame of the party's own clips. It starts link-only (not findable by name) and you can change anything, including the photo. When someone marks a gift as bought, their name and note show next to that gift on the registry page; their email never does.
Analytics
To see which pages help families and where they get stuck, the site uses Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and the Meta Pixel. They measure visits, clicks and page performance, and Clarity makes anonymised replays of how pages are used. We never sell your data.
