Writing about Diaper Reveal?

The facts

What it is

Diaper Reveal is a free, browser-based multiplayer gender reveal party game. Family and friends join a live 3D race from their own phones, play a quiz about the parents-to-be, and the winner reveals the baby's gender to everyone at once.

The wider site

Diaper Reveal is a free companion for the whole journey to baby, in 24 languages: due date and baby's size each week, a live online gender reveal game, a free baby registry with gifts from any store, and baby names chosen together with family. After the reveal, families can order a moment from the reveal film printed on a mug, T-shirt, poster or card.

Price

It is free to host and free to play. There is no account, no sign-up, no card, and no download for anyone — the host or the guests. The only paid thing is an optional printed keepsake (mug, T-shirt, poster or card) from the reveal film.

How it works

The host creates a reveal in about two minutes and shares one link or 6-letter code. Guests open it in their phone browser, type a name, and pick team pink or team blue.

Built for

It is built for families spread across different countries, and it works just as well when everyone is in the same room on separate phones.

Privacy

The baby's gender is sealed on the server and is never sent to any guest's device — not even the host's — until the winning player reveals it live.

Languages

24, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, French, German, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Each guest sees the party in the language the host picks.

Story angles

• Families split across countries: grandparents abroad see the reveal the same second as the parents, on their own phone.
• A gender reveal that needs no fire, smoke or travel: the whole party happens in the browser.
• The baby's gender is sealed on the server, so not even the host's phone knows it until the winner reveals it live.
• Real numbers from real parties: see our gender reveal statistics page, counted from games played on the site.
