Amazon Baby Registry Alternatives for Every Country

An Amazon baby registry is easy — if Amazon offers one in your country and you're happy to buy everything there. Here's what to use when either of those isn't true.

Amazon is where a lot of baby gifts get bought, so an Amazon baby registry sounds like the obvious choice. Two things catch people out. First, a registry or wish list lives on one Amazon country site — guests buy from that site, and it ships from there. Second, Amazon doesn't sell in every country, and where it does, the registry features aren't the same everywhere. If you're in a country without Amazon, or you want gifts from other shops too, you need something else.

When an Amazon registry is the right choice

  • Amazon sells in your country and offers a registry or wish list there.
  • You're happy to buy (almost) everything from that one Amazon site.
  • Your guests are comfortable shopping on that Amazon site.

If all three are true, it's a reasonable pick. If not, here are the alternatives.

Country by country: which store your registry can use

Diaper Reveal's free baby registry always sends guests to a store in the parents' country, so gifts are delivered to you. Where Amazon sells, checklist items open that country's Amazon; where it doesn't, the country's own big online store; anywhere else, Google Shopping for your country. And in every country you can add a gift from any shop by pasting its link.

Why the parents' country matters

Say your mum lives in Manchester and you live in Toronto. If she buys from her own Amazon, the gift may not ship to Canada, or may arrive late with extra charges. If the registry sends her to Amazon.ca, she pays with her own card and it's delivered to you like any local order. That one rule — buy where the baby lives — solves most cross-border gift problems. We cover it in more detail in baby registry outside the US.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Amazon baby registry available in every country?

No. Amazon doesn't sell in every country, and where it does, what it offers for babies — a registry, a baby wish list, or neither — differs by country site. Check your own country's Amazon. A registry tied to no single store works everywhere.

What can I use instead of an Amazon baby registry?

A store-independent registry. Diaper Reveal's free registry opens Amazon where it sells in your country, otherwise the country's big local store (such as Noon, Daraz, Shopee, Tokopedia, Mercado Libre, Jumia or Takealot), else Google Shopping — and you can add any shop by pasting a link.

Can I add Amazon items and items from other shops to one registry?

Yes, on a registry that accepts links from any shop. On Diaper Reveal, paste any product link — Amazon or not — and it goes on your list.

My family lives in another country. Which Amazon should they use?

The one in your country, so the gift is delivered locally. Diaper Reveal sends every guest to the parents' country's store and shows them your address after they claim a gift.

Is it free?

Yes. No fees, no account and no app. Some Amazon links are affiliate links, so the store may pay a small commission; the price for guests does not change.
